The Final Compromise

Marie Antoinette was sentenced to death when she faced the Revolutionary Tribunal and was wrongly accused of sexually abusing her son (Priamos Historical Significance para 2).  She was sent to the tower,  of which she had always been horrified (Fraser). Marie was slowly driven in the streets of Paris for three hours, being humiliated while the crowds of people yelled and tormented her. She arrived at the guillotine wearing a white dress and purple slippers,  looking calm. She died on October 16, 1793 at  age 37(Gilroy para 6).
